Begin Your Journey of Overcoming Obesity

Hi. Clinton Wood here. I would like to welcome you to a website dedicated to obesity and how to overcome it.

I received my license to become a registered nurse in 1997, caring for hundreds of people diagnosed with severe weight issues since that time.

All of them ask me the same questions over and over again:

  • My doctor diagnosed me with a weight problem. What do I do?
  • How do you overcome it?
  • What treatments do you use for it?
  • How do I stay motivated to overcome my weight problem?

Because of these questions I created this website dedicated to helping people overcome their size issues.

Within this website you will learn:
  • The definition of being extremely overweight
  • How health care professionals diagnose it
  • What treatments health care professionals use to help people overcome their weight problems
  • The medications and herbal supplements health care professionals recommend
  • How to stay motivated to overcome your weight issues and
  • Much, much more.
A few facts about corpulence:
  • It reached epidemic proportions in the United States this year.

  • It affects more than 60 million people.
  • It leads to more than 300,000 deaths per year.
  • Over 117 billion dollars in annual cost this year due to type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, and hypertension.
  • It is the most pressing health challenge that we face today.
The risk for the following ailments increase when the individual becomes extremely overweight:
  • High blood pressure (hypertension)

  • High blood cholesterol (dyslipidemia)
  • Type 2 ( non-insulin dependent) diabetes
  • Glucose intolerance
  • Hyperinsulinemia
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Angina
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Stroke
  • Gallstones
  • Cholescystitis
  • Gout
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Certain cancers ( such as endometrial, breast, prostate, and colon)
  • Bladder control problems
  • Psychological disorders ( such as depression, eating disorders, distorted body image, and low self-esteem)

Can I define obesity? You bet I can! It is a result of an imbalance involving excessive calorie consumption and inadequate physical activity.

In other words, eating more calories than you exercise off!

Another fact about portliness - It cuts the average Americans life expectancy by as much as 5 years. The amount of people suffering from being overweight now equals the amount of people suffering from hunger in the world!

Stop to think about that for a moment. Can you agree that something must be done? Well, that something begins with you! Read on.

More than 60% of Americans do not get enough physical activity even though health care professionals prove that it will help people overcome the weight issues that they face today.

Regular physical activity will reduce many of the illnesses associated with being extremely overweight. It also helps to maintain weight loss and prevent weight gain.

THE #1 TREATMENT FOR OBESITY--- WEIGHT LOSS!

The current therapeutic tools available for weight management can be summed up in the following:

  • Behavior management to change diet and physical activity habits
  • Drug therapy
  • Surgery

People who become unable to achieve significant weight loss with lifestyle changes alone will require drug therapy.

By improving eating habits and increasing physical activity you can overcome your size issue. The nation, as a whole, must communicate with and educate the American people. The #1 concern should focus on health and not appearance.

We, as individuals, lie at the foundation of the solution to overcoming our weight issues. Simply put.. The problem with obesity belongs to everyone!

If you suffer from portliness or with being overweight then you can be an overcomer! We want to show you how.
