Eating for your blood type can help you lose weight and overcome obesity, according to Dr. Peter D’Adamo, creator of the blood type diet.

The premise behind his findings is that each blood type processes food differently, so by eating for your type you are eating the foods that your unique system can best process.

Dr. D’Adamo even states that your blood type affects how your body handles stress and fights disease.

Eating for your type when you are a type B or AB is a little easier, because they are more moderate middle-of-the-road diets.

Type Bs can eat most meats, except chicken, and can enjoy most dairy products.

Type Bs should avoid seafood and most nuts and seeds.

Type ABs can eat meat, but because they have a harder time metabolizing it, they should watch their portion size.

Type ABs tolerate dairy and wheat products well.

Eating for your blood type is a learning process, as with all new diets.

It is important to follow the allowed and not allowed food lists so that you can begin to see results.
