Using the Definition of Obesity to Determine Your Status

The definition of obesity is different for children and teens then it is for adults.

Here at overcome-obesity-today.com we will focus on the two definitions that affect adults which includes the adult obesity definition and the definition of morbid obesity.

The definition of obesity for adults use to be a body weight that is more than the ideal body weight but less than 20% over the ideal body weight.

Today, we use a different method of determining obesity by using a new adult obesity definition.

As far as morbid obesity is concerned, it changed over the years as well.

The definition of obesity for morbid obesity use to be a person whose weight is equal to or exceeds more than 100% of their ideal body weight.

Today, just like above, we use a different method of determining obesity by using the new definition of morbid obesity.

However, just remember this fact.

It does not matter if your classification is overweight, obese, or morbidly obese; you will still need to lose weight and become healthy.

You must act now to change your life before it is too late.

So, what can you do to start losing weight right now?

What You Can Do To Start Losing Weight Right Now:

  • Eat whole-grain foods such as whole wheat bread, oatmeal, and brown rice.
  • Eat a variety of vegetables such as spinach, kale, collard greens, mustard greens, carrots, sweet potatoes, and winter squash.
  • Eat a variety of fruits everyday. You can choose fresh, frozen, or canned fruit (canned in its own juices).

  • Eat low-fat dairy foods such as skim milk, fat-free yogurt, or low-fat cottage cheese.
  • Choose low-fat protein foods such as beans, split peas, lentils, fish, chicken, or turkey. Remember to remove all visible fat before eating.
  • Bake your food instead of frying.
  • Avoid foods high in fat such as potato chips, french fries, doughnuts, and cakes.
  • Drink 64 ounces of water everyday.
  • Incorporate a proven, complete nutritional program into your daily life.
  • Enhance your nutritional program with a complete mutivitamin supplement because no nutritional program is perfect.
  • Use a behavior modification and motivational program that will help you stay on track with your nutritional plan.
  • Exercise at home with your own:

    Treadmill

    Stairstepper

    Exercise bike

    Elliptical trainer

    Hand weights or

    An aerobic video.
